A Mom's Shower

This morning I was inspired while I took a shower... isn't there where so much inspiration comes from? I had been having these thoughts since, well I became a mom and I finally put them down on paper!

A Mom's Shower

A Mom's shower is quick...
not because she likes short showers but because toddlers aren't
very good at supervising themselves.

A Mom's shower is cold...
not because the water isn't hot, but because she has to leave
the curtain open to keep an eye and ear on passing hooligans.

A Mom's shower is never relaxing...
not because she can't block out the noise of the world, but because
of the little legs and arms that try to sneak in and join her.

A Mom's shower is never clean...
not because she can't get rid of the hard water spots, but because
of the multitude of toys the kids throw in to keep her company.
(Thank you for the plastic golf club, I was hoping to find
some extra time to practice my swing in the shower.)

A Mom's Shower is never boring...
not because she is excited to try out her new loofah,
but because of the ongoing game of shower-curtain-peek-a-boo
she plays to calm the crying baby.

A Mom's shower is refreshing...
not because she's washing away sweat from a really good workout,
but because she can't remember the last time she took one!
