It's a BOY!

Today was my 20 week mark! We also had our 20 week Dr. appointment and ultrasound! The ultrasound revealed that our baby is a boy! Also our little boy is perfect, and growing at just the right rate! There was nothing wrong with him, which eased some of my anxiety :-). We are so excited to have our own little boy! Ben got excited and said he was going to have a little buddy (so cute). After the appointment we went to Kohls and Target and got some cute baby boy outfits. They all turned out to have puppies on them (If Ben can't have a puppy yet, he will dress up his kid as one). We also found a onesie that said "Daddy's little buddy" on it. It was perfect!

I LOVE the little sweats!
Look at his cute little nose!!!!

Fall is Here!

Fall is here! Finally! The trees are starting to change, it's beginning to get cooler (thank goodness), and we even got ourselves a fall scented plug-in! I have posted any belly pictures on here for awhile so I figured I would do so :-) Baby and I have both grown quite a bit!

I can't believe I am already almost halfway there! For the past week and a half I have been feeling baby move! It is soooo much fun! At first it felt like little flutters, or something popping inside me. It's starting to feel more like kicks, and they are getting stronger and stronger! One of my favorite things is to just sit with my hand on my belly and try to feel the kick. Hopefully Ben will be able to feel them soon! On Wednesday I will be 20 weeks, and we have our ultrasound that will tell us if we're having a boy or girl! I am SOOOO excited. 4 more days! I have been feeling great mostly, but my back has started being a little more sensitive. There have been a few days this week where I didn't really move much, and stayed in bed reading Harry Potter, because I just felt achy allover! But other than than, I cannot complain! Some other good news is that on Monday Ben and I will have another NEPHEW! Andrew and Kristen are having their baby, and we are all super excited to meet him!

Yesterday (on Friday), we had our dear friend Karin's (Ben's old roommate Big Ben's wife) little brother's girlfriend over (get all that?)! She was borrowing our kitchen to make some tasty fall treats. It was fun to visit and have company over!

This weekend I also got my craft groove back on! In honor of the upcoming holiday of Halloween, I made some decorative balls. I think they turned out pretty cute, and Ben assures me he thinks so too. I wrapped twine around Styrofoam balls (with a hot glue gun), and then painted them with acrylic paint. One is supposed to represent candy corn, and the other a pumpkin. I'm going to be making some more, for a better presentation. :-) It's been fun having something to do while Ben watches football and movies!

My Latest Project... and Other Recent Happenings

So this past week has been a stressful, but good week! Ben had a lot of assignments due in his Legal Writing class, but he totally rocked it! I think I will have him do a post someday to let you all know what Law School is like.

Our car also had some other issues... but we got it fixed yesterday! So now our car doesn't make embarrassing squeaking and grinding noises. It's great. On Thursday I made an AMAZING soup! I got the recipe from my old roommate Becky. It is a Butternut Squash soup, and it is the best kind of butternut squash soup I have EVER had. Seriously, if you want the recipe, just ask me. :-)

Ben got his diploma! He is official now! Wahoo! He now has a Bachelor's degree in Political Science AND Chinese.

Last night we went over to a couple in our ward- The Bennett's- for dinner and games! Aaron (the husband) is in the Physics Ph.D. program at Penn State, and Shandee (the wife) is pregnant (like me!)! Although she is due in December (yes, I'm jealous). It was a lot of fun, and it was nice to make new friends!

Now for my project this week! I made a bolster! I got the tutorial here. It was my first time making piping, and I think I did a pretty dang good job! Check it out-
Isn't it pretty?
And now for the final product...

This shows the stitching I added into the fabric... not sure I'm totally sold on it, but it's fine.
That's about all for this week!

CRAFTS!!!!

This week I caught the craft bug! It feels good, because it keeps me busy! The first thing I did was finish a bag I started all the way back in April... it looks so good, and I am so proud of myself. I'm excited to use it on Sunday!
The stripes are one big pocket that goes around the bag, and then there is a cute little pocket in the inside :)

My next craft was coasters! I was getting annoyed with the water rings from our cups/water bottles all over. So I went to home depot (my dad would be so proud:)) and bought 4 ceramic tiles. Then I used scrapbook paper I had at home and used Mod Podge to glue the paper to the tiles, and went over it on top a few times to seal it, and make a waterproof surface. I think they turned out pretty cute and it only cost me $0.68 (the tiles were each $0.16!)!

Last but definitely not least... my pillow! I just finished it, and WE LOVE IT! I found the inspiration and tutorial here. I had to cut the strips myself, which took a while, but it was totally worth it! It looks so good. We took one of the pillows that we got from Andrew (Ben's brother) and Kristen, but the seam was ripped and stuffing was coming out of the side. So instead of just stitching the seam back up, I decided to rip it apart and use the stuffing inside to make a new pillow!
Before...
After!!!!!
I still need to make the other one, but I'm giving myself a little break first. :)
