Our 2nd Anniversary and Stuff of Late

On August 20th, we celebrated our 2 year anniversary! We woke up and made ourselves chocolate chip waffles and eggs. They were DELICIOUS! Yum. We also let each other take naps, while the other person watched James. Ben also surprised me with BEAUTIFUL flowers. For our gift to each other, we bought P90X (which we started this week- intense!)! We then were able to go to a little Thai restaurant called Cozy Thai (and thanks to the Deans for watching James for us!). It was our first time eating at a Thai place, and we really enjoyed it! For dessert we went and got ice cream from Cold Stone, and ate while watching season two of Downton Abbey (thanks Nia!) after James went to bed. It was a really good day!

they had mirrors on the ceiling!

so pretty!

As for other news, we moved! We are in the same apartment complex, but a few buildings over and in a 2 bedroom townhouse! We love it here. And the stairs make it feel like we have a real home... almost. James has been sleeping about 10 hours every night. Who knew that having his own room would make such a difference??? James also got to use his bouncer! He loves it! And he has the most wonderful blowouts while in it (hopefully you noticed the sarcasm). James is also becoming better at sitting up by himself! It is so cute. And as of today, he has TWO teeth! He just cut his second one.

Ben also started his 2nd year of Law School! This is going to be a verrrry busy year. Not only does he have school and studying, but he is now an associate editor of the Journal of Law and International Affairs, AND has a research job. I think he has a better management of his time this year, so it shouldn't be too bad.

I have been keeping busy with taking care of James, putting our new home together, and doing a few crafty projects here and there. I made James a cute little onesie with a tie and vest appliqued on it. I made the tie out of an old black skirt, and there was enough left over that I made him a little pair of black pants! They turned out pretty good if I say so myself. I also finally finished a toy truck. we got James the book "The Little Blue Truck" (very cute story btw), and I had started making the stuffed truck to go along with it a few months ago. It turned out pretty cute I think! I got the idea from one of the craft blogs I follow (make it love it). And now for pictures!
James and his friend Carter :)

Ben's Birthday Bash!

Ben turned 25 on August 4th! While we were still in Utah, we had a little party for him. I made his cake, and then my mom and I also made some rootbeer cupcakes we surprised him with. It was actually a lot of fun! For the cake frosting I used kool-aid packets for color, and let me just say they were a little on the sweet side... okay, a lot on the sweet side. I haven't decided if I want to go that route again. Anywho, enjoy the pictures!
James didn't seem to mind the frosting!

Rootbeer cupcakes. I cut full size straws into mini ones! Aren't they cute?

Ribs, Cheeseburgers, potato salad, baked beans, and watermelon! YUMMY!

I made this for Ben last minute! I had fun :)

shirts, shorts, books, giftcards, etc!

Claire and Aaron came!

Starting him young!

His cake! Pretend that the icing on the bottom looks better...

James didn't know what to think about it...

Blew em all out!

"What just happened, Grandpa?"

He liked the rootbeer frosting too!

On Ben's actual birthday we were home in State College. For breakfast we went to The Waffle Shop and had some delicious chocolate chip waffles. Ben also got blueberries in his. It was really yummy. Then we took James to a babysitter and went and saw The Amazing Spiderman. It was pretty good, Ben enjoyed it :)

Waiting for the waffles!
