Blankets

I've been whipping out the baby blankets the past few weeks! I'm trying to get all my projects done as soon as possible. I made these two the weekend before last.

This next one I did today. It didn't take long at all, and was actually kinda fun to make! It was super easy, and it looks awesome. I found the pattern online (big surprise), and thought it was really cute. The football side is made from brown minky, and the laces I used white felt. The backside is fleece. I can't wait to see our little one wrapped up in it!

35 Weeks

Today I am 35 weeks! Only 5 more weeks until my due date! Ben and I think our little boy is going to come before his d-day though- how early? Only time will tell. We have been busy getting our wee little apartment ready for baby. We got some storage container/drawers to put all his clothes in (which are mostly all washed :)), and we're trying to find places for everything else! We have been receiving lots of help from people which has been awesome! I also get to have another baby shower in a few weeks that my visiting teachers are putting on for me. I am so excited to have everything, and for our home to be organized (as much as it can be...)!
I am getting bigger, so that means more aches and pains. I think the hardest thing is rolling over in bed, which I have to wake up for now. I wake, go to the bathroom, come back and switch to my other side. I figure if I'm up, I might as well empty my bladder!
Only 2 weeks until baby is considered full term! I hope I can make it! :)

The Last Part of our Break

The rest of our break went by really fast! We did lots of shopping, reading, resting, eating, movie watching, etc. One of the nights we went to Lindon and had dinner with the Dorff's! It was a lot of fun to see them again and they cooked up a delicious dinner! We visited for a few hours and DJ even showed us his new motorcycle. Ben liked being with DJ... and his motorcycle. It brought back memories of Taiwan.

Another night, I looked in the mirror and realized that I am getting pretty big. It looked like I had a basketball under my shirt. So I wanted to perform an experiment and luckily Ben was a good sport. I went out to the garage and grabbed a basketball and a soccer ball.

We then realized that Ben needed a little "extra something" to make it look more real, so I went and got some socks and...
Can you tell the difference?

Our trip home was a long one! We went from Salt Lake to Phoenix at about 8pm. at 11:45pm we went from Phoenix to Philadelphia, and at 9am the next day we flew from Philadelphia to State College. I never want to have 3 connections again. Especially during the night. BUT- we made it and after a few days of rest we nice and recovered! It was a great trip, and we are really glad we were able to make it!

Jaxon's Blessing Day

On January 1st Andrew and Kristen blessed their little boy! He was blessed in Kristen's home ward in Bountiful (which is also President Eyring's ward). After sacrament meeting Pres. Eyring came up to Andrew and told him "that was one of the finest father's blessings I've ever heard"! Pretty cool! The rest of the day we went back to Kristen's parents' house and hung out. There was a really yummy lunch, and then everyone did whatever. Ben was playing with a Nerf gun, and I was tired of being shot at so I asked him to put them away. Well apparently after I left, he got the guns back out and handed one to Garrett. The first shot Garrett made bounced off the wall and hit him in the eye. Ben felt really bad... guess he should have listened to me :).

Ben liked playing with all the babies

Claire & Aaron got Brian a helicopter for Christmas

Garrett really liked the helicopter

It was great spending the weekend with everyone! The next time the whole gang is together again there will be another baby boy! Crazy.

Happy New Year!

On New Year's Eve we had a big party here at the Riley's! All of Ben's family (minus Justin) were in Utah for Andrew and Kristen's baby- Jaxon's baby blessing. The Thursday before, we went to Claire and Aaron's for dinner with the whole family minus Grant and Cassy's family. That was when we finally met Jaxon! It was fun to see everyone again.

I took these last 2 pics from Aaron...
On Saturday (New Year's Eve) they all came over to my parents' house for the Van Noy family Christmas, and then to ring in the New Year. The day was super busy getting ready for everything and I was pooped by the time people started getting here. Ben was able to go shooting with my dad, brother, and sister (Nicholas got a new gun) which he enjoyed very much. When he got home we took Brian out and tried to get a few senior shots of him. Here are some of my favorites.

When we got back in from the cold we enjoyed a yummy dinner of pizza! After that we opened presents! This Christmas my big project was working on these little owl pillow/stuffed animals for the nephews. I found the pattern and tutorial for them online (on pinterest...). They were fun to make and they are really cute! When Garrett opened his, he knew right what to do! He put it on the floor and laid on it! It was really cute.

Garrett is saying "Hoo Hoo" like an Owl.

This is what Ben and I gave his parents'. It even has our little guy, and Claire and Aaron's little guy!

Ben's mom made one of these for all the couples, with them temple they got married in.

Cassy made this for our baby! We finally picked a name for him. Captain Douglas Bojangles, or "Doug" (Ben came up with it)
The rest of the night we just visited, played games, and of course stayed up til midnight to ring in 2012!
