Memorial Day Weekend

Our family had its first little family vacation (as a family of 5 that is-James, Theo, and Beau) this past weekend! We went to St. George, UT on friday and came back saturday. It was a lot of fun, and we had some good quality family time. In the car we had Beau's kennel set up so he just stayed in there whenever we drove- it was super nice! Our first stop was Zion's.

There is only one trail in Zion's that allows dogs, the Pa'rus Trail, so that is where we headed. It was really pretty because it ran along the Virgin River. We didn't get very far because it started raining, but it was beautiful! We will have to go back sometime.

Later that day we went to the St. George Children's Museum. It was a really cool museum, and I even ran into a friend from Colorado! So cool. After that we went to the City Cemetery and had a little scavenger hunt trying to find my great grandparents' grave. But we finally found!

The boys LOVED the hotel rooms (we scored some connecting rooms- the boys each had a queen bed of their own). Or I should say the paper products it provided. James pulled out all the tissues from the vanity area and made piles all around the rooms. Theo discovered the toilet paper. They were both quite proud of themselves.

On Saturday we went to Redcliffs National Preserve and hiked. It was gorgeous! And of course, it was raining.

James fell down and these hikers that were behind us picked him up and walked with him for a bit. It was so cute!
After our hike we went back to the Children's Museum so the boys could play in the river walk splash pad. James loved it so much! Theo wouldn't touch the water.

After lunch at The Bear Paw, we hit the road back home. On Monday we went hiking to Stewart Falls. We thought it would be a nice easy hike to do with the boys... well, it was a little more intense than we thought. It ended up being a good workout for us :) And of course, it was raining every now and then.

Theo had to stop and pick all the flowers.
After we got home Ben mowed the lawn (he was soooo tired that night), and we had dinner with the family. It was a fun filled weekend!
