Day 2 of DC 2012 Trip/July 4th!

What better place to spend the nation's birthday than the capitol? We started our festivities by going to the Air and Space Museum. The National Mall was really crowded with people getting ready to be in a parade. I felt so sorry for them! It was way hot, and they were all in their stuffy looking costumes and uniforms. Poor blokes. Anyways, the museum was pretty neat. Check it out!

I just realized I have a lot of pictures of James and the Dorff's... hmmm. But DJ found his hand twin!
After the museum we walked over to the capitol! Unfortunately, this was the best view of it we got. It was closed off for people getting seats for the concert/firework show later that night. Then we walked up capitol hill to the metro. It was soooooo hot, we had to stop a few times and cool off baby James. Then when we found a bench in a nice shady spot, we stripped him down to his birthday suit! We changed his diaper and let him just cool down for a little bit. I think we all appreciated the stop though!

Then we went home and took naps/ate chips and salsa/watched Miracle. We had some yummy hot dogs for dinner, and then went to watch fireworks! We went to a Mason temple, but the view wasn't the greatest. But we did get to see some fireworks at least! James slept through them. Basically we got to go stand in the dark and sweat. But at least we had good company! Don't get me wrong, the fireworks were actually really good, we just were a little too far away.

And that was our 4th of July!
